Live Blogging from the Women’s Training Day!
Hey ladies! I am bloggin live from the main auditorium in Ballard. it’s the end of the women’s training day, and we’ve had a great crew of speakers. Sitting with me in the sound booth is Hannah, fellow Reforming the Feminine writer, and I have to say I am in an entirely different place than I was at the last women’s training day I attended; I am just enjoying being with the women this time and not jealously comparing myself to this woman or that woman… instead able to focus on the speakers and totally comfortable.
Ahhhh what a way to spend a Saturday. Sweatshirt, comfy seat, listening to women teach theology, and sipping infamous MH coffee.
Here’s a few snaps. If you made it, let me know what you thought! If you didn’t make it, shame on you! (just kidding.) We will have audio up as soon as we possibly can.
Thank you Jesus for unity among women that would otherwise be absolutely impossible.
Adriel, signing out.
Deacon Kelly Cowan speaks on “God our Savior.”

Hannah diligently takes notes in the soundbooth while I diligently distract her. Lots of women in the background.

I was so blessed by what was spoken at this conference. Wendy talked about what you really believe about God shows forth in your actions when you go through hard things. I realized for myself through some recent difficult things that I have a really small view of God. Wow, I have my own agenda of how I think my life should play out and God has a different idea. I was challenged to give up my own agenda and start studying the character of God. Wendy pointed out that often when in the Word we tend to see what it says about ourselves. I was challenged to also pay attention to what it says about Jesus. Adriel mentioned this idea to me a few weeks ago. As application I am going to start with the Psalms and see what God says about Himself. I am really excited to see what God is going to teach me. Thank you to all the women who spoke and were bold to share their lives with us women!
[...] Yesterday I attended the the Women’s Training Day. The event was wonderful! I was blessed by the solid teaching on the characteristics of God as our Father, Savior and Help. I am also thankful for the speakers Wendy Alsup, Crystal Munson, Kelli Cowan, and Amy Lockman. They’ve pointed me, and I hope many ladies, to Christ. Thanks to the four women who spoke into our lives this weekend. I appreciate your vulnerability, your commitment to truth, and your desire to allow the Holy Spirit to use you in our lives. Thank you, Wendy, Crystal, Kelly and Amy!
Wow. I thought Mars Hill had a strict “no photos” policy. [wink].
Jen, I KNOW. I kept waiting for a hot security boy to come and take me out, but it never happened. Incredibly disappointing. [wink back].
