The Spawn Of Satan Embodied In Versatile Solutions For Modern Living
A couple weeks ago I was privileged with an invitaion to blog at worship.com. To kick things off I decided to post a little somethin-somethin I already wrote in print version of the Mars Hill Vox Pop newspaper a little over a year ago about home ownership, stewardship and “stuff”. And just so you know, I’m not advocating materialism. Just in case you were wondering.
Anyway, enjoy.

Great article, I really agree with a great deal of it. The Bible is filled with advice about long term investing and sacrificing now for rewards in the future. However, there can be a danger in being let down when the stuff you worked so hard for gets messed up. What happens when your 2 year old takes a hammer to the nice wood coffee table you spent months saving up for. There can be a happy medium there. Saving for nice stuff but being practical on where you are in life and weighing the risks involved.
Thanks. And I’m in total agreement, Derek. Your example reminds me of the time I took a hammer to “help” my dad “work” on his new 240Z back in the 70s when I was little. Somehow, I never lived that down… :)
