Grab Bag - 06.22.07
So I’m starting a new tradition, a series of posts called Grab Bag. This will replace my old tradition of doing Friday blog reviews (which I never did really get started anyway). This will be modge-podge of random things I’ve found out on the Web.
Items may have to do specifically with why and how we blog, or they may just be random factoids. Either way, I hope it gets you involved and excited about blogging and your contributions to the VPN.
Citizen Rain - find out “What Seattle is Talking About” at this blog. Not too surprising, the top post is entitled “Woman registers her dog to vote.” Oh, our drunk uncle city. But seriously, this would be a great blog to follow to learn more about what it seems our city values, if only from perusing post titles.
CWADD: Church Website Attention Deficit Disorder - this post made me ever-so-grateful that I work with talent web developers and creative people here at Mars Hill. Our websites are truly fantastic.
Pandora.com - apparently this free personalized online radio station has been around for a few years, but I was hiding in my cave. The site allows you to create different radio stations based on a particular artist and it will automatically play music that has similar sound and lyrical qualities. It’s a great way to explore new music.
Get John Piper in the convenience of your own home for $5 - We are indeed a church that loves John Piper. Because of this, I thought you would all appreciate knowing that the Desiring God blog is offering all his books for $5 this coming Wednesday and Thursday (July 27th and 28th). You’re welcome.

thanks elizabeth!
i use pandora.com all the time. when i teach classes with lab sessions my students always want music. i got tired of carrying music around with me, so now i can log in to pandora from any computer and it has all my “stations” saved and automatically plays the last one i listened to. i’ve actually learned a lot about music from this since it plays songs from various artists. definitely a fun site, especially for people like myself - i am constantly using different computers throughout the day.
