Mars Hill sure knows how to party

If you attended this event and had your picture taken, order photos here. Check out more photos taken at this event here.

Some have asked the question, “Does Mars Hill know how to rock the flock?” That’s been answered with a slew of talented musicians leading worship and the volume turned up as loud as is legally possible.

Red Hot BashOthers have asked “Does Mars Hill know how to enjoy a good brew (coffee or beer)?” That has also been answered with extra-strength java generously available at all church services and beer-brewing lessons whenever a large group of MH men get together.

But there is one big question that has remained unanswered for years: “Does Mars Hill know how to party?” (sorry, swaying to the music during worship doesn’t count as a sufficient answer). Well, folks, the results are in. Mars Hill can indeed part-ay. This was emphatically confirmed by the fabulous time that was had by over 700 partiers at the recent Red Hot Bash on New Year’s Eve.

Red Hot BashStunning red and white decor, a beautiful spread of delicious desserts, and a red hot band greeted those lined up around the block (dress to impress, of course) as they entered the decked-out Ballard campus for a night of fun and festivity.

Another big question - “Does Mars Hill know how to dance?” - was also answered on New Year’s Eve. It wasn’t long before the dance floor filled up with guys swinging ladies around like they’d been practicing to impress for years - to swing, pop, and salsa music. The night also included a pretty intense dance-off, in which our very own Pastor Lief and his wife, Tonya, came in fifth place. Not bad out of 75 couples who entered the contest!

Red Hot BashThe event also included a champagne toast at midnight, with the Space Needle celebration televised across the big screens, as well as a photo booth for attenders to capture memories of all the fun. If you attended the event and lined up for a snapshot, click here to view and order your photos.

Also, check out a photo album created of pictures taken of the decor, dance-off, and much more.

We can all rest easy now knowing that Mars Hill very much knows how to party. And we’ll wait in anticipation for next year’s New Year’s celebration . . .

Echoing the woman’s example from the story and the parable Jesus shares with Simon the Pharisee, I want to provide some practical examples of how you can express your gratefulness through [...]

On November 26th starting at 7:00pm, everyone at the Ballard Campus is invited to bring their friends and family to celebrate what we truly have to be thankful for–the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We also want to take this [...]
